IMLEK is a big big day for chinese people to celebrate their new year. Im not chinese but i'd like to take some photo shoot when the day has come. And yeah it's coming at february 14th right when valentine's day (hahaha i dont do this for real).
Me accompanied with peter and my sister, hanna, firstly came to klenteng which located behind standard chartered building near sudirman. When we had arrived and then looked at the front gate, there's no one in there. Is this place not a klenteng for people to pray?? Well i dunno for sure.
Dont wanna end up with empty hands, we quickly change our destination to Klenteng Petak Sembilan, which took place on Glodok, Kota. I have already been in there for photo hunting at my high school-time when im joining "Lensa Mahakam", a not-so-popular extra curricular back at the time. So this would be the twice for me. hehhe let's back to the main story i got.
We directly move to glodok and easily went to the klenteng by following people who seemed to go to there (just look at the clothes they wear, they gotta have spick-and-span look for praying). Arrived at 09.40 a.m, the place not too crowded at first but whuuuusshhh sooner later the place seemed full with people. Lots of chinese, pro & amateur photographers, beggars, asongan seller, security unit. This time i wore swimming glasses, learning from the last experience that my eyes hurt so baaaad.
hey if you wanna find out our luck in this macan logam year, just click here
it's in indonesian language, horrraayyy...
IMPORTANT NOTE:
next year, if you want to go to Klenteng for photo hunting, do not forget to bring a fully close glasses like swimming or diving glasses. it would protect you from massive smoke that came from hio burnt. do not feel ashamed or ridiculous to wear this inside the klenteng if you dont want to hurt your eyes.
FYI, it was difficult for me to take perfect moments. i usually used Manual Mode and im not too handy to use it fast (you know everyone moved here and there and i was just blocking their movement for praying). i really adore people who could take such a delicate moment that truly describe what they wanna share to us. that's why i really really want to take journalist photography course. next year would be great for me i think, hehheheee.
so these are the photos i love the most. i really need comments and advises to improve my skills. big thanks for those who like my post.
