LUCKY BASTARD

One day, i got lucky to win the first prize at the quiz "RANKING 1" that held on Trans TV. Hem, this is not the first time im winning something. Before this, i have won lotte bubble gum quiz and got a red lunch bag when i was kid. When me at the second grade of senior high school, i won a photo hunting competition (i was selected for the 1st winner) that held by Labschool Kebayoran and got 1 million rupiahs. I dont think that was a very big deal, i just feel that i somehow get lucky, effortlessly. I survived from a car accident twice. I got back my cool green crocodile skin wallet that had been stolen at the deborah bus. I got a job without me giving any cv. I know im a lucky bastard. I feel so very thankful and grateful of what happened to me, whether its good or bad. I think everyone has its own lucky version on his/her life. I know God design and make our life balance. When you lack on something, you have another thing to cover those and we gotta be proud of it. Oui, c'est la vie (yes, it is life) if i have to take one of the song title from laruku :p Wow, writing this makes me look and think at the bright side that i always used to be before. That's good.

Back to the ranking 1 quiz, I have to admit that my look on the television was far away from the word 'a natural beauty' and it has been broadcasting nationally at April the 6th!! haha WTF. But anyway, i won 5 million rupiahs. Yeay to that. Here are some snapshots i took.

p.s: well, i wish you all a nice luck.. im hoping for mine now to do the thesis, fukc -__-

WHEN MOM IS OUTTA TOWN

fettucini carbonara with tarik ice tea, the tastiest food so far by me :9

My mom visited her sister (which also is my aunt) at Tembilahan, Riau for more than a week. Pretty lame, cause i knew my sisters will depends on me when it come to tummy problems. So when mom is outta town, I cooked. Well, it was really not a real cooking i have to say. I made my own meal, the very easy ones and the instant way to feed this rubber belly. I should be ashamed, at this age I just gotta make this kinda stuff :(

I think as a human being, we gotta appreciate our self with delightful food so we could thank to God that we’re living such a graceful life. Food is a heaven sent from God, i assure that to you ehehehe. Sooo, can you tell me guys, what's your favorite food to make? Have you ever fail making it? Fyi, i failed to make the fettucini alio oglio, the pasta was under cook. I also once failed to make pancakes that the final result was just like a slight bread haha. Failure is always the best way to learn, like KOC lyric said hihi. And I think nothing can really stop us as long as we try our best, rite? I promise my self to learn tastiest yum yum recipes so that I can fulfill my prime needs of food. I don't mind if you'd like to share your experience in food to me. Must have been a pleasure to know it.

cornflakes cereal with caramel topping

smoked beef and cheese toast

french fries with mix of mayonnaise and chili

chicken siomay dimsum from fiesta, i just steam it :p

fettucini alio oglio, a bit disappointing :(

LET’S GO KNITTING

freda, karin, me, ocha, and ella (left to right) with our knitting work
i forgot the two men's name behind me, pardon me :(

This idea firstly came out when Rossa told me that there’s gonna be a knitting workshop class in Tupperware Home at Tirtayasa. Then I arranged it, asked a bunch of friends to participate, and finally it was just Rossa, Alfreda, Ella, and Karina (Ocha’s college buddy) who attending to the knitting class. The free of charge thingy is the coolest part that i can offer to them, lol. Oh i forgot to introduce you to Alfreda and Ella. Freda is my big mouthed-highschool friend with a big heart :p meanwhile Ella is my old buddy from elementary and juniorhigh school.

We showed up to the Tupperware Home with no clue at all. I was told by Mbak Lini who gave us this opportunity that the lecturer is from Tobucil. What’s Tobucil then? After we played some warm up game with tooth paste as a tool and listened but with not paying attention too much to the sales mam from Tupperware, and finally we found out what on earth Tobucil is (not quite clear actually).

Tobucil is a club hobby who support literacy movement in a local level based on some kind of daily activities like reading, writing, appreciation, and hobby development. Literacy for Tobucil not only means reading and writing skills, but also includes the ability to read the environment critically, and the courage to understand ourselves as an independent people who got the potential to grow and to contribute for changes. And, this knitting workshop class is one of those activities from Tobucil also with The Man Who Knit. If you wanna know the details about Tobucil, click here. And if you wanna shop via online, click here to see the goods from the catalogue. And wow, a talented young lecturer lady posted this workshop event to her blog. Check here if you’d like to.

So, the five of us and other fellas have been taught how to knit the very simple technique, just using our hands for a beginner like us. I might say that I enjoooooooy knitting, it was fun!! We even had a race who could knit the longest until they (Tobucil and The Man Who Knit) said stop. One of the lecturer said that when you’re knitting while talking, then you’re getting better. He said again, “It only took 10 minutes to finish this simple knitting.” It was nearly impossible since this is the first time for me knitting.

I knew what I and my mates learnt at the workshop was just easy as abc, but there are a lot of techniques that we gotta learn more for making shawl, beanie hat, sweater, cardigan, dress (what I really intend to make), and so on. I’m planning to learn knitting again. I hope there’s gonna be another workshop or maybe the knitting course in Jakarta (Tobucil is from Bandung), so we can seize our time and day with beneficial activity, and not wasting it. AMEN.

Heeey, here are some pics I got. And if you eagerly wanna learn what I knew from this class, ask me too. Or perhaps we could take this knitting course together, why not?? :D

Tobucil's mission and commitment

ella won the race of "who can knit the longest?" yeay

it's my knitting work i formed like a lollipop

i got this two rolls of knitting yarn for free :)

we got goody bag each that contains 1 tabloid, 1 magazine, and 1 mini tupperware

JAKARTA FASHION WEEK 2010/2011

It was on November 7th, when me and Rossa Prila (who likes to be called Ocha) went to JFW 10/11 (Jakarta Fashion Week) where it took place at Fashion Tent, Pasific Place. This is the very first time i've seen a fashion show. Big thanks to Dinda PS who gave me her own VIP ticket, nor i couldn't get the opportunity to see the LEVEL1 collections. I heart you Dinda, i really do :*

So let's just say that i'm too excited and a wee bit tacky, i asked Ocha how should I dress to attend this such occasion. hahahha shame on me. Since Ocha always wanted to get into fashion business, she well aware of it and for her attending JFW was the second time so she got more experience with it. FYI, both Dinda and Ocha are the founder of Pretty Odd, an awesome accessory line which had released the 3rd collection. They just made five items each of every design! Can you imagine how creative they are. As a friend of theirs, im proud :D

Heeey back to JFW, the event was hilarious. We got strategic seats to look clearly at the catwalk. And I might say that i like the ambience, such as: the place, the lightings, the music that fits for each of every designs, the crowd who dress properly well, the people who gave bouquet of flowers for his/her designer friends, etc. I even felt the pride for being at the spotlight. Must be an honored as a fashion designer if your designs got so many compliments and the crowd gave you big applause. Wow, Im already waiting for the next year show!!

Level One itself is a fashion district project located at Grand Indonesia Shopping Town which was like a 'home' for young innovative spirited designers with their own indie labels. There are 29 indie labels who competes in Indonesian Fashion Industries (kabarindo.com). So at JFW, Level One that presented its Falls/Winter 2010 collections were split up into 2 fashion show. We saw the 1st fashion show for almost an hour and feast our eyes by looking the latest collections from i.e: Ichwan Thoha, Saint&Sinner, Deer, Ciel, Kaligula, Eight, Naima, Cocomomo, Jouse of Jealouxy, Mimsy, Venom, Geulis, Huntingfields, and Monday to Sunday.

Overall, it was so inspirational even for me who seemed clueless at fashion hehehe. All of the designs are unique but wearable and stylish. Love every details on it and each of designers have their own concept.

Here are the my fave:

GOODBYE 20 & HELLO 21!!!

tiramisu cheesecake from Cheese Cake Factory :9

Yeaaaay, I just wanna say happy birthday to myself. At November 13th 1989, I was born normal and healthy. And 21 years later, im grateful as i kept along with that. Alhamdulillah. I never meant my birthday is a special day. Nothing really special actually. From my point of view, it was just to remind us what we have done, not done, earn, not earn, and so on. So we could be a better person the next following years. Heem, even though now i grew older, problems will always be a friend of mine. As a human, I gotta solve them wisely enough. Haaaaahhhh, easy to say, difficult to execute. Sounds cliche, but i really hope and wish for it.
The best part from a birthday is you got a lot of attentions by people around you by sending texts, twitter mentions, bbms, walls at facebook, or even a call. So I got so many greetings and birthday wishes from my lovable friends. Thanks anyway, I love every wishes that all of you guys gave to me, I saved some of them indeed :)

Im not gonna tell you what my personal wishes are, let it just me and God who know them. Cheers!!

Btw, there are many awkward things happened right on my birthday. I can't give any details, but I wanna say my special thanks to Ndhoy and Trias. I love you guys :* (not to forget my family)

IDIOT IDIOMATIC

Idiom can defined as an expression whose meaning is not predictable from the usual meanings of its constituent elements; a language, dialect, or style of speaking peculiar to a people; a construction or expression of one language whose parts correspond to elements in another language but whose total structure or meaning is not matched in the same way in the second language; the peculiar character or genius of a language; a distinct style or character.

We already learned about idiom back when we were in elementary school, didn’t we? I found the perfect idiom to express what happened this past five years. This idiom just makes me feel like an extremely horribly awfully idiot. I’m not joking around, this is a serious shit. Feels like you wanna drowning yourself in a big goddamn pool, or choking your neck by your own hands, or cutting your vein in the hand, or laying your body down on a railroad, or else you just sitting with a blank eyes and possessed by a demon. I’ll be a true idiot if I did all kind of activities above. It is clear enough I’m not insane yet. I still can make a difference between the good and the bad. I’m in so much grateful with that. Thank God, I praise you.

Back to idiom, you guys must have heard this, rite? Where there is a will, there is way”. It means if one really wants to do something, one can. For example:

“Where there is a will, there is way......”

Ways to know you
Ways to be friends with you
Ways to know more about you
Ways to make me liking you
Ways to make me liking you a lot lot more
Ways to make me happy with you
Ways to make me in love with you
Ways to make me enjoying life with you
Ways to share life with you
Ways to get along well after we had a little fight
Ways to make me deeply in love with you
Ways to get along well after we had a big fight
Ways to realize how colorful our love life is
Ways to make us through the ups and downs
Ways to make me madly deeply in love with you
Then
Ways to cheat on me with my own close friend
Ways to make this ex-close friend had a crush on you
Ways to make me feel betrayed so damn hard by both of you

Well, the last three are waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much, isn’t it? What do you think reader? Am I an idiot? I think I’m not reach the idiot level yet, hmm maybe a fool I guess LOL. The idiot is supposed to be the one who already knows he/she is on the wrong way road, but still keep walking on it. He/she still got the change turning back to the right way even there have to be some consequences, like coming late, got tired during the walk, etc. He/she just follows the wind blows, mad people who definitely giving the wrong direction, blame it to all x factor, and the last thing he/she can do is leaving it to the God’s hand even though he/she got at least a tiny brain to think but not using it.

Then he/she just keep walking on that wrong road again because it’s too tempting, too curious about everything and anything in it. although during the walk he/she meets friends, families, beggar, a dead cat, a dead man, dead soul people, zombies, ghosts, monsters, an angel, any kind of creature, he/she doesn’t give a shit, doesn’t care, doesn’t think, doesn’t feel anything except the lustfully temptation to walk that wrong way. Since i don't have the right to forbid him/her, so I think it is a time to say good bye then. I intend to the right way road with friends, families, and God by my side. Well good luck for the idiot, it must be a heavy damage slippery road. Be careful with it.

Am i look like an idiot? Think not. I'm just being a fool. silly me :D

A POSTCARD FROM SOUTH KOREA

the day Yuni went away to Daejeon, South Korea

Please let me introduce one of my dear friend, Yuni Winingsih, who temporarily live in South Korea. Yuni is a bright cheery girl who has a wide gorgeous smile. What i really like about her is the way she can make people around laugh and smile with her natural honesty that she has. She’s good at hiding her own feeling and kept it, you can imagine how strong she is, can’t you? The best part is even she’s not joining some kind of any circus, she never failed entertaining me (sorry yun, I'm just fooling around :p). I hope she felt the good way about me, im so sorry if i ever let you down yuuun.

Heemm the thing is, she got a scholarship to learn Korean language and she’s gonna hang on there until February 2011. Ooh how i miss her badly.... Hehe tell you the truth I'm a lil bit envy for her luck, disappearing from Jakarta for 6 months would be a great heavenly journey for a heartbreak kiddo like me LOL. But of course im really happy for her. The day she took off, i asked her to write and send me a postcard from South Korea hehe. And she kept her promise! Yippiee, i got the lovely postcard at October 5th. Since i don't have a scanner machine, i just had a time to scan it on campus back then hehee. Btw, my mom and sisters told me that this sending-postcard-thingy was a traditional way as if we can easily share stories with any kind of social networking on the internet. But personally, i like this idea instead. What do you think? Am i too old fashioned? Hehee.

Heey, the pic is a view in Thailand, im asking for an awesome landscape from Koreaaa~ hihi

I supposed not to show it to you, but I want to :D

p.s: i didn’t find my cool pic postcard, so i couldn’t send you back yet yun. Be patience please :)
